Judging HP before a DYNO

Is there a way to guesstimate your HP based on what other people have achieved based on similar mods?

I am curious because I will not have all bolts on until next spring and I only wanna spend the money for tuning once.

My Evo:
AMS UICP
Cone Filter
UR Catback w/ mini muffler

List to purchase:
AMS FMIC
Grimmspeed 3-port
UR down pipe / cat

Any thoughts would be appreciated

330-350hp/330-350tq

Who you going for the tuning... that also makes a big difference. Not all tuners are the same.

I've heard that buschur's mustang dyno is very accurate to the exact HP you are pushing. I've head that AMS in chicago and Ivey in NJ are very advanced in what they can do with the X's. But, those are opinions of various people.

Whoever dyno's my evo, I would want it to be an exact measure of my power, and not just an inflated number to make me feel better about myself. So I must obviously research my butt off.

I'd like to find a local guy to tune it at an extremely reasonable price until it can be dyno tuned, but the extremely reasonable price usually means that you get what you pay for.

Not always very reasonable = crap...

Just because a tuner has dyno does not mean they know what they are doing all the time... that is just a small observation. If you are looking for a tune let me know via pm. Anyways, I would suggest a road tune, then hit up the Switzer dyno and do some pulls. Then you can adjust what you need later after a dyno.

Dyno charts are cool to brag to your friends that your Evo is faster than their Honda Si.... duh

It should be similar to the numbers Clipse posted, I based mine on how it ran compared to cars with confirmed numbers like a stock c6 vette. I was even with one 20-120 so I figured around 360whp to hang given the extra weight of my car compared to his.

Just get a tractrix cable and evo scan. Do dyno simulations. It'll give you what I think you're looking for. Then again, I'm not sure you know what you're looking for

Yup, we have both a VDR spreadsheet and VDR program in the ecuflash subforum. Log and you get a nice pretty app.

You can also use a program like dynolicious or adyno to get an estimate if you have a smartphone.

You can get pretty close if you know your idc's and AFR's. I use this to guestimate if the car is doing well or down on power.

Yeah, that's another way. Usually, it the injector company gives a data sheet and tells you at what IDC you should make what BHP. So I know for my FIC 1100cc if I am at 70% IDC I am around 495-500 BHP, NOT WHP!!!
