The AP does that automatically for you, nothing extra you need to do or worry about.

Got my Cobb in yesterday. Plan to play with it today. Question I have is I have an autozone cone air filter on and I saw that stage 1 should be used with stock airbox and filter. So I'm assuming I'll have to put my stock airbox on? Can anyone confirm this or know if it's safe to keep my cone filter on?

Thanks

Posted 1 million times.... it is tuned for the parts it specifies. It *may* work with your awesome autozone filter, but the only way to know is to test and see. More likely than not it will lean things out.

Alright, I couldn't find anything on using the stock filter vs cone. Thanks.

I was trying to figure out to search for this answer too, but not sure how to word it and see if there's an answer since I searched boost pill and couldn't find anything, but...

I have an ams boost pill as well. Since I have an MR, the boost pill is good for when you have a tune, so would that boost pill help when i put the cobb stage 1 on or is it not good to do that? I know when i get an ams custom tune the boost pill will be good to install.

Thanks

When you get custom-tuned ditch the stock BCS w/pill and do a 3-port.

Well I bought the AMS one, just got it with my cobb ap. So was seeing if i can use it with the stage 1 cobb tune or if its meant for only certain tunes like custom or something? If i can use it and it'll help with the cobb stage 1 i'll install it today with my tune

Just rocking some simple process of elimination and answer assumption here....

Did you buy the boost pill to do something?
yes

Does it actually do something?
Well, AMS sells it and the internet seems to think so. Yes

Will it change the tune if I install it without tuning?
See previous answer. Object does something to change the way the car acts

Will the tune bet the same with it?
See previous answer. Something has changed. No.

Does AMS / GST note that you must be tuned if you install this?
Yes. Assume tune refers specifically to things this piece interacts with.
**ECU boost control tables must be calibrated for this boost pill. Not doing so can cause overboost and possible engine damage.
Is there a cobb tune appropriate for the boost pill?
Why don't you take a look? I don't know, I'm just your sub-conscious

I believe Cobb maps are designed for either stock pill or no pill (depending on the map), but check the notes on the individual maps and I bet you shall find your answer.

I saw the map notes but every computer I tried it didn't work, so I thought maybe someone could give a quick answer on it. Can't know which cobb maps were designed to use the boost pill.

I think your best bet will be to give Cobb a call and discuss with them exactly what you're planning. That way you can get the answers directly from them in their words.

Well I installed the stage 1 93 octane for my mr last night. Put my stock airbox on. Me and my friend went on some night runs(I live outside sa and I have a nice empty 4 lane highway street).

Use the programs on the cobb and they seem pretty accurate. 0-60 of 4.9. I'm pretty sure stock is 5.4ish. This was at a dig but I want to try super sport mode and see what happens. Hit peak boost averaging 24psi like cobb stated but managed to hit 26psi last night. Pretty Badass. I'm satisfied.

I'm going to buy the cobb intake(cheap at $150) and install that new map and see what happens.
Going to call cobb too asking about boost pill.

I'm not sure if it's cause of the tune or just me but exhaust sounds better/louder and car feels more aggressive. Loving it.

Glad you're happy! If you're hitting the proper boost targets then don't touch the boost pill. When you get pro-tuned by them you'll want to get a 3-port BCS though.

Very possible that it sounds louder after a MIVEC change.

More boost. More air being sucked in the intake plus more air exiting the exhaust.
