Alright, that makes sense.

So my mod list, for performance, next consists of:
-cobb intake
-that map with the intake
-turbosmart bov
-custom tune to my car, saved onto my cobb

is the boost gauge app on the cobb pretty accurate? i was kind of thinking of keeping the cobb plugged in my car, hide the wire through the dash and come out by my navigation screen and steering wheel and use the boost gauge.

Skip the BOV, pointless for your setup. The AP boost reading will be more accurate than any gauge, it reads from the stock MAP sensor in the intake manifold and is accurate up to 33psi.

Alright cool, it's going to be my next project with getting the cobb to sit on my car.

I want a bov for the sound, know performance wise it won't do anything.

Keep in mind it may hurt your drivability.

Oh really? dang.

Oh and one more question. Since with stage 1, it says peak boost should be 24psi, and in my earlier post today I said my AP gave me a 26psi reading, that's not "overboosting" is it?

26 should be fine but you may want to try out the LWG map.

try the LWG map, and skip the BoV. When you get the new intake, you will hear the stock one a lot more. Bov's are not good for our cars for multiple reasons you can find discussed on multiple threads.

Yeah I was thinking of trying that map.

So when I want to install another map, do I have to uninstall the current 1, to go back to stock, then install another 1 or can I just directly select another map?

Awesome, thanks everyone for all the help, learned a lot now about Cobb. Starting to really get into Cobb. Can't wait to get some $$ to buy the sf intake, don't even have 150 after buying the AP lol.

Actually, the blow off valve could screw you completely. MR's don't like VTA. They don't like crappy blow off valves. Combine the two, and you will have more head aches than you want to deal with. I recomend a Synapse, either the new or old style, doesn't matter. 100% recirc.

Any bov that is designed to have some cool sound is going to perform like crap on your MR, even on the stock turbo and you will hate it.

While I mostly agree with you, thats a pretty big generalization. I love the sound of TiAl's BOVs, and they are not crap!

One question tho, when I flash back to stock can anybody see that ecu was flashed before? I mean is there a history what has been done to the ecu?
