royally screwed with AEM UEGO and PERRIN TBE

Hi Guys - well it looks like I'm pretty screwed here. I've been asking around about this setup but nobody really warned me about the PERRIN catback not having an extra o2 bung for the wideband, as well as the UEGO sensor not being narrowband compatible to the stock ecu. so now what? (as in, i could've gone the route of going with a DP that has an extra bung, or purchased a wideband that can simulate NB). anybody care to help me out with this unforunate situation? thanks..

or u can just go to an exhaust shop, and just have them weld a bung on to the DP. This is what I did... make sure its tig welded or will leak after a while...

^^^ Agreed. That's exactly what I did. Cost me exactly $15, and took like 10 minutes. Easiest fix ever. Hope that'll help you out

Are there any cat-backs with a bung on them? I don't know why there would be since the factory narrowband is *in* the cat pipe.

Did you even look at any pictures?

there is a bung before the cat and after the cat on the downpipe. 2 bungs. not three.

what if i were to replace the post-cat sensor with the wideband? it'll throw a cel but i can live with that, for the sake of being able to monitor AFR. thoughts?

The aem uego gauge comes with a bung fitting for the sole purpose of welding a bung onto your downpipe. Its hard to find a dp with an extra bung welded for a wideband sensor.

The AMS wide mouth down pipe has an extra bung already in it.

you can find them pre-welded, for $150 extra (UR, etc)
Just get it done after the fact for $15 like stated above

I fail to see where you are "screwed". Just do like 99% of the other people and weld the bung that was SUPPLIED.

that was supplied by who. mitsubishi? mitsubishi only supplied two bungs. one's precat (needed for nb) and the other is postcat, which needs to be disabled as to not damage my wideband sensor. so what the **** are you talking about.

The AEM wideband comes with an extra bung so you can weld it into your existing pipe. If you have factory CAT's you will want to have it put in before the CAT's as they will skew the numbers. That is what the **** he is talking about.

I had one put in for my wideband just like pretty much everyone else did. There are very few aftermarket options available that have the extra bung already installed in the pipe because the tuner or shop usually decides where to put it. The companies that make the aftermarket parts don't know your setup hence why almost all wideband gauges come with a bung to weld into place for installing. Hope that helps and good luck.

AMS HFC/Test pipe (not 100% on the test pipe, but assuming since they did on the HFC) have an extra bung too

Wow, lot's of negetivity from someone who failed to properly research a product before buying it.

Is the exhaust already installed? If not, take the TP/HFC to a hole-in-the-wall muffler shop, and pay $10-15 to have the bung from the UEGO welded in. If it is already installed, do the same thing, only pay a little more to have it put on a lift.
