I'm curious what people are setting their "slow CEL" threshold for?

I always use "4" but am finding that I get small spikes of 4 from time to time. This causes me to start ignoring the CEL more than I like.

So what are you guys using for Pump gas SLOW CEL threshold on STOCK BLOCK?

 

I've been setting customer cars to 3 and 6 on pump. My personal car is set to 2 and 5 with E-85 and I never see it flash.

I do have one customer that has complained about it, and I will be raising his threshold.

Honestly though, if 4 bothers you, then go 5. Back when I ran pump, knock counts drove me nuts. I fixed then with Ethanol.

 

I talked to Eric (Kosmic) about this the other day and he jokingly said to set it to 20 and call it the "Time to Rebuild" light.

 

Annoys some people, tells me I need to look at that that area of the map on the standalone (unless it is phantom, in which case it *is* annoying)

 

2 for slow and 4 for fast CEL flashing works great for me. I'll occasionally get a slow CEL on the first WOT pull, but it's not repeatable, so no worries. Only time I have seen the fast CEL is at the track (probably heat soaked, pushing it too hard).

 

I'm at 4, and it has been flashing a little more than usual, even on cool nights. Can't tell if it's phantom or knock. Will i hear *ping* if it's real, or not necessarily?

I'm with the op in that I'm starting to disregard it, which makes me uncomfortable when I think about it.

it seems random. Sometimes at WOT but not all the time. Really driving me crazy. What is phantom knock/how can I tell short of taking it to my tuner and checking for counts of knock when the light shows up and seeing if there are four or less?

Slow flash of 3 gets me attention to see if it starts fast flashing at 6 (a real issue) as it comes and goes quickly.

 

Just checked mine: 4/8-e85

 

Who lets out when they see slow flash?? How about fast? I've seen some slow flash on mine quite a bit, but never fast. I've only stayed in it a couple times when flashing slow, most of the time I let out.
