Just tune it correctly and you'll be fine.

I ran my stock turbo to 31-32psi on E85 with no issues for months. I put a rod through my block at 25k miles though so I might not be the best person to follow...but I was pushing it hard. Stock turbo E85 is usually very reliable if tuned well.

Ha... same boat as Murlo. Mine was probably an overboost due to cold weather (now you know why I mentioned it!) I too was running a sharp sharp early spike at peak torque.

The rods are the weak link here, but you are smart to recognize it is the torque spike. If your tuner maintains a torque curve that is a bit smoother at peak VE you should be fine. Worst case lower the boost a couple of psi.

That whole situation is much easier to manage when the turbo gets a bit larger. I would not be concerned per-se, but a good tuner is always a good idea, and asking for a safe torque spike is a decent idea.

Just for the record, ryan gates put over 11,000 track miles on his high horsepower e85 car wringing the life out of it until he had a problem... and I think that was with a 750R car.

Gates messed his up when they turned up the boost on his 750r. He ran it at like 520-530whp for a whole year fine, then bumped it up another 30whp or so a kablamo, it was done.

Mine was fine until I put my FPred on the car and went for 33psi spike...that did the rods in quickly.

Thanks again for all the help. Im gonna get a buschur DP and a cobb and have my tuner just do a e-85 map and a 93 for during winter. And have the e-85 map a safer probably 28psi max tune. I dont want to have to explain to the wife WHY my engine blew up. My ***** would be gone and thats something i dont want to have modified.....lol!

Any other hints/tips for me would be greatly appreciated!!
