Tuning after upgrades?

Hey,

Are you suppose to have the evo X tunned after every mod? For example if I install the uicp and intake, do I have to get the car tunned afterwards?

Depends if the intake changes the MAF housing size. If it does then you need a retune. UICP you don't need a retune.

Don't need a retune for ones that doesn't change MAF

Thanks guys. I'm new to Mitsubishi. I came from the Honda world. Lol. The reason I asked was because a guy that I work with has an STI and told me that whenever he adds a performance mod he has to get his car tunned otherwise he'll run lean. Could really care less about Subaru though. Just wanted to make sure the evo didn't fall into the same category.

Tune after every mod...? I would assume that some would be exempt.

I would think that you would buy all upgrades and tune at the same time. If not you will be paying to get your car tuned everytime u put another part on and with that money you can buy a lot more performance parts. I put the usual bolt ons on my X without getting the tune for about 6 months and everything ran but not as smooth as when i got it tuned.
