hey guys. i am so excite that i m geting my 2012 X Mr tune next week. the tuner asked me to pick either pro tune or opensource, which i did picked the cobb protune option. i have a question of how do i know if i m getting a good smooth tune by looking at the graph. I dont care about the final numbers as i already know the approximate range in my mind. i just want to make sure i wont get rip off. I am getting my tune @ UMS tuning located in Arizona. my mod list are below, please feel free to give commons and estimate the final numbers of my tune. btw, it will be on dynopack.

Rule of thumb is if no one heard of this tuner stay away, go with a tuner with lot of
reviews or success stories. The risk in tuning engine is so big that its not something you would want to gamble and regret it. For the AVG people you wont know whats safe or not safe on the tune until engine is blown, this is why i say pick a tuner thats well known on this site and you will be sleep much better at night.

 

thx u for your advise. i know i had chosen the right tuner because UMS did tons of evos in my area. its one of the best reputable tuners here. if you search their name on youtube, you will find their evo is one of the fastest time attack car at the entire west coast.

 

So why are you scared a shop so highly reputable would rip you off? Either you trust them or you don't.

 

i do trust them as they are famous around my area. but as i was reading around i do also realize SST is not an easy cake to deal with.
i called the tuner is he know some tricks of how to tune SST and all he said is I tuned tons of them before.
his answer made me little nervous because i probably will get the same response from other tuners even they are not well inversed in SST.
