high idle after stage 3 ots?
high idle after stage 3 ots?
I had just installed my Cobb EBCS and a few other parts today before i flashed my ecu to the stage 3 OTS map. I've noticed the car is idling around 1,000 RPM while WARM. not sure if Cobb or anyone had a fix for this, i have also made sure maf and ebcs were properly connection as well as my v2 is up to date. Please help! thanks!
My stage 2 is hovering around 900 rpms...pretty sure it's normal based on what the maps are targeting for idle RPM. Evo's tend to idle pretty poorly so the slightly higher RPMs helps things in my experience.

I have seen this with the Cobb V403 tune as well. I believe the target RPM is 898 in the OTS tune file across the entire normal idle range, I tried the OTS idle values and found that when I drive the vehicle in traffic and normal driving it was easier to get the car going, however the higher idle value just annoyed me, so I altered the map to the standard value tree but left the rest of the tune untouched.
I have found that I have to give it a bit more to get it moving and that when you come off the throttle its a bit harsher and driving in traffic is a little jolting if your not careful, but all good otherwise.
I guess you need to remember the OTS are a great starting point and that with the AP you can then alter the tune to suit you and your car (within reason
) Also as IKT said, if you are not happy or confident in altering the OTS tune, talk with Cobb they are always helpful.
