Evoscan Knocksum Explanation

Since the Ralliart forums don't have a "tuning" section, I was hoping someone may be able to explain why I have knocksum. I am pretty sure it's boost related because I shouldn't have 28lbs of boost on line 48. I've read Merlins guide but it didn't pertain to my issue.

Are your Wideband AFRs really that lean in boost?

are you trying to self-tune a Ralliart with an SST in it? Most full time tuners won't even tangle with them.

My UEGO gauge doesn't read that lean. I think its calibrated wrong. Shouldn't I just look at the AFRMAP for accurate a/f or should i be looking at my wideband?

I'm still learning about tuning, so I would happily pay an E-Tuner to figure this out, but there aren't many around.

looks like you might have a bad boost leak, possibly a blown turbo gasket. Usually spikes like that are leak related but you never know. You might wanna take a look at all your piping and seals. The knock could be that its going really lean from that 6psi spike...

You should be looking at the WIDEBAND LOG not the actual WIDEBAND display ,
it is showing you SUPER LEAN 15-17 AFR at line 48 thats why u getting crazy knock
Couple more pulls like that your engine is Fryed .
Who is your tuner contact him immediately to fix this up before anymore damage happens,
if you are self tuning then you need to lower your boost or add more fuel to your map.
-15 LTFT You got a leak some where need to fix that

My signature shows my mods and tune. The GST basemap is proven reliable and safe, therefore, it's probably not tune-related. It must be a mechanical issue of some sort. My used EvoX BOV might be bad? A visual inspection doesn't show anything wrong with it. I may have a leak somewhere but why would my car drive amazing 99% of the time except during occasional 3rd gear WOT runs?

because your car isn't running well when it's under load, which would be those 3rd gear pulls
bov unrelated

also, AEM's don't calibrate, its accurate and your tune is bad. If it was mechanical, it would affect the whole range of operation. Somewhere it seams like you are running out of fuel on the top end. What is your injector duty cycle?

found the issue, it was the fuel pressure regulator hose had blown off. I'm told to zip tie it to prevent it from happening again. My A/F ratio is now in the normal range, I plan on logging this week to double check numbers. Thanks for the comments it always helps to have multiple perspectives.

I was just about to say - check the fuel pressure regulator hose!

Glad you caught it earlier than later, probably wouldn't be a bad idea to do a compression test just to get a snapshot of engine health for reference as you mod.

Can you explain what a "compression test" does? I took my car to a tuning shop and they did one, and they said I had very low compression (45lbs). I never understood what they meant or how to improve it. I just had them run a carbon cleaner and replace the spark plugs.
