What are people running for boost levels on a 100% stock turbo/long block? Car was recently tuned (by someone very popular here) and was pushing over 30psi. Motor got destroyed not long after.

Evo X? thats way too much IMO, I was boosting about 26-28 on my X, 23 MAX on my 8 turbo. Seems much to me

 

Way too much on stock motor/turbo, with any fuel.

 

Currently tuned to 26 lbs on a stock turbo.

 

I saw your video on YouTube for this, I just recognized your name lol. That suck that happened, but I rarely here of anyone going past 27 psi on a stock engine. I believe stock the evo runs 20 psi, so going up 50% of that to 30psi is quite a jump! But to answer your question I am runnning 25 psi.

 

still way more pressure than a Subi can hold lol

 

If I hit over 30psi the AYC Service Required/AYC Disabled panel comes on.
My block is sleeved with cams and ARP hardware.
Is 30psi still the limit or is there a way to go a little over w/o tripping the AYC code?

I'd find a tuner that knows what they are doing, that is an EASY fix.

My friend stock evo X was hitting 33 psi and it is still is alive

I'm hitting 35-36 on 5 gear but there is no sense to push car full throttle from 3.5 k rpm
but my engine is cosworth pistons and manley h beams about 515 lbs at peak and it is holding 29 psi at 6k rpms. It is really easy to addict I tried to drive at 31 and definietely I didn't like it

In my opinion it is useful and only can survive while using very smart not pushing the car from low rpms

my evo X on stock engine was set for a 30 psi no problems at all
