5000-6000rpm problems

2012 evo x was tunned before i bought it but dont know what tune or who had done it. At wot in all gears it will pull hard and smooth untill it hits 5000-6000rpms and feels like its pulling without boost and then picks back up. It didnt do it when i bought the car. I did a launch one day and after that is when it started. Any clues because i cant find this problem anywhere else. And clutch is not slipping.

What are the boost levels and AFR's displaying when that happens? Without more info my guess would be a fuel issue (check fpr vac line, relay, pump, etc.)

You definitely will want to log what is going on, likely it's pulling timing from knock and over time eventually that will cause damage if not addressed.

Is it missing? It could be pulling timing but I've also had a car that wouldn't rev above 4k because it was so rich
