So got tuned by a reputable tuner this weekend on the new build. We did a flex fuel tune. With 93 everything went 100% flawless, we then swapped e85 in and the car wouldn’t even idle. It would turn on and die right away. My friend unplugged the gas pedal and plugged it back in and the car idles lol..we got it tuned in e85 and wot afrs are perfect car runs perfect but I will get bounce idle. It will go to 1800-1900 then back down to 1k and thw afrs for idle will bounce.. once the RPMs go down to 1k I get afrs lean out past 15.7 and I get a cel P0171.. lean bank 1.. I have tried cleaning the throttle body, checking for loose vacuum lines etc and nothing is helping. I am taking logs and sending them to the tuner but in the mean time always wanted to see if anyone has experienced anything similar. Just weird that as soon as we did e85 car went crazy. Any tips or helps appreciated!

yea I am trying. We are doing logs and such but he is kinda stuck too. It had spark, great fuel pressure etc. so idk. He says everything on his end looks perfect. But hopefully we will be able to figure something out

 

If it's good on his end then it's on ur end. Make sure you do a boost leak test. That will tell you what's going on.

 

we did a boost leak and it’s good.. hold psi perfect tuned in 30psi and tampers to 28/29 and it’s steady all the way. We are thinking it might be a maf or throttle body issue.

 

If you have a bunch of miles on the car, e85 can dissolve crud that has built up in the fuel system.

If it was me having these issues, I'd pull the injectors and clean them just in case. You can youtube how to do it yourself (easy) or send them out.

no lol the chassis has 55k.. it’s a 2014.. the engine just got done being built.. so engine only has 600 or so
