ETS Exhaust Review
Sorry for your luck, but thanks for the heads up. I am in the s ame boat as you I believe. I want the performance from the exhaust, but not the obnoxious sounds of most exhausts. With my Evo 8, the only combo that worked for me was Buschur exhaust with magna flow AND hi-flow cat.

CJ,
Rather than selling it, how about sending the front section back to us and we'll make it a resonated system instead of the non-resonated version. That quiets the note significantly!
That is also available as a standard option when purchasing this system for those preferring a more mellow exhaust note, so just let us know you'd prefer the resonated system when ordering in that case

I will try to get one installed on our development X for some sound clips, but there have already been a few orders of the resonated version and those customers very well may beat us to it!

Just Picke up the system. the parts are very high quality and very thick stainless steel. welds look very clean and smooth . chrome tips are heavy and have a very nice rolled lip cut at an angle. I will try and do my install tonight or in AM.. pics to follow and more sound clips from inside and outside the car. so far A+
PS this system is without the mid pipe resonator. just the 2 end pipe mufflers. (they are sweet looking)

I had a rough time installing this exhaust, and I have done quite a bit of work on evos in the past... but this one, with its 32 pieces (exagerating), makes it almost impossible to get correct alignment, and when you finally get to the tips, my kit came with fancy walmart clamps for the exhaust tips, very obvious, noticeable and cheap looking from behind... not sure that I am going to keep this one for much longer.
I thought it was very straight forward pipe set. the additional part was the cross bracket but thats just 2 bolts. as with all exhaust adjusting the tips can be bothersome but I think its really Looks, I like mine somewhat centered and this kit ft great. my friend likes his high tight and these would not go up next to the body well.
I will get some pics posted , I completed the install months ago. Really sounds nice . if you have some pics post them. as for the cheap clamps call TOM , my clamps were all T clamps very good quality.

Overall I like it so far but the exhaust note does get a bit loud on the highway as you approach 4000 RPM. I blame the Evo X gearing honestly since most of the noise seems to be coming from the engine bay and the AMS front motor mount is likely amplifying the noise from the 3" downpipe making the 3" mini-muffler not as effective at reducing drone at higher RPM.
Cruising at 65-70 it's just fine but 75 is borderline when you have a girl in the car and she is starting to ask why it's so loud.
There is one more exhaust leak that I'm waiting on a gasket for, maybe that will help a bit, but the noise still seems to be coming from the engine bay and not the ETS exhaust.
I may swap in the stock motor mount and compare before and after. I also may consider wrapping the 3" downpipe with a heat wrap but I'll have to research if it will actually help noise levels and what other side effects it may have. Any other suggestions?
I love how the exhaust has adjustability and while initially it was a bit off because of the multiple points of adjustment I got it perfect now. I'll try and post some pictures and sound clips once the gasket gets installed in the next few days.
