Catback, Test Pipe, Mid pipe, Downpipe

Ok I am new to the Evo scene and obviously interested in an exhaust upgrade. I had three previous Sti's and all i just use to put on was a Downpipe that connected to an exhaust system and walla.. instant TBE

Whats with all these mid pipe, test pipe and downpipe pieces? Or is it that the JDM exhausts is just comprised of a downpipe and a CBE cause I was looking at the TiC system and all that was available from Greddy was a DP and CBE? Are USDM exhausts set up differently?

Can someone explain this to me and point me to the exhaust configuration for the X?

I basically want a CBE and don't mind getting rid of the CC. I am very interested in the UR new dual. Does that mean i need to buy a mid pipe and a CBE from them?

no, test pipe=straight pipe instead of Catalytic Converter aka CAT.
Midpipe is pipe that connects CAT to AXLE back.

CBE is including everything from midpipe-> end(tip of the exhaust)
There is no need to replace CAT, indeed you need CAT to pass inspection depending where you reside.

Inspection is not an issue where I live in the Caribbean. Different answers here guys! So when i purchase the UR CBE dual. Am i getting the mid pipe as well? Can the Greddy guys chime in here as well. Where i live, no emissions law.

3 pieces for a turboback exhaust.....

Downpipe -> Cat Converter or Test pipe -> Catback Exhaust (midpipe, muffler, everything)

lovely... the mid pipe was throwing me off.. did not realise that the mid pipe was part of the CBE... in my experience with JDM exhausts.. it came as DP that was connected to a DP... i have a JDM btw
