High Speed Fan Conflicting With Aftermarket Intake

Has anyone had this issue. It seems that after the dealer reflash the ECM everytime the high speed fan for the AC kicks on the idle starts chasing between 250rpm and 1200rpm. I have the ETS intake and if you put any kind of shield between the fan and the intake it idles perfect. I think someone is going to need to build some sort of shield.

No problems with mine, AMS intake on my car and the AC on or off doesn't affect my idle in the slightest.

I was woried about that problem but pre-emptively fixed it by putting a 90 degree bend between the cone filter and the MAF. My MAF is in the same location as stock and the filter points straight down. I did rotate the MAF 90 degrees relative to the 90 bend in order to keep the airflow from the bend from going over the hot wire in the MAF dfferently and leaning the engine out.

Sorry, this was the engine state after a night at the local Dyno, looking polished was not the priority, getting 410+whp was! This car was meant to be both a beuty and a beast, so don't worry you'll see them polished soon!

I solved it with an extended CAI on my AMS intake and gain 8 more ponies in the process!

don't you get boost leaks all over the place with those cheap clamps on the piping?

I'm not a big fan of the worm clamps either. Get tbolt clamps on those!

So is there anyone that has a stock ecu and an aftermarket intake that does not have a shield who is not experiencing erratic idle?

What do you think comes STOCK on your car? do you get boost leaks with those? NO, neither do I, this clamps would leak if not used properly, but that is what AMS shipped them with, I don't have the need right now to change them running the boost level I am running and so far no leaks and 410whp worth of power!

most stock evos have boost leaks all over hte place due to the cheap factory clamps. I know mine did... so yes T-clamps are needed... who knows, maybe you are missing 10 free HP and some spool up... get a boost leak check done (either smoke, or pressurized and see what happens).

and don't give us that "AMS knows what they are doing" they only reason they didn't give you better clamps is because they cost more. If you look at 90% of the images on AMS's website they have T clamps on the charge pipes...
