its obvious that it hangs low, it needs to be reworked, YES bushur overlooked this, everyone makes mistakes, thats what happens with new products, i also would take the speed bumps on an angle in the mean time.

As far as the fitment goes, we noticed that during the install, I was more worried about the can hitting the drive shaft but after seeing the side profile.... yikes. I'm afraid nothing can be done fitment wise that I know of, no where to adjust the can height and as you already noted, no room for it to go higher.
Yeah, i watched you guys install the exhaust I knew it was installed correctly and there was no adjustment room. I PMed Noize a few hours ago when the JDM USDM crap started on the first page i figure he will be in here pretty quick to take care of it.

I have reread all my statements in this thread, no where have i bashed Buschur on their product I have simply said they may have overlooked something. Am I happy with the exhaust; Yes (stop overlooking the fact that overall I am satisfied with the exhaust). I simply posted this thread to warn others about the can height issue and here comes the Buschur fan boys thinking I am trying to soil the Buschur name... I am not doing that here, I am posting an opinion, a review, my thoughts, and doing it in an open forum where the manufacturer is happy to read and respond....

Why should I call and tell them of the issue when the Buschur guys make multiple posts here a day... If I had something very negative to say I would honestly keep it to myself or go strait to them with the issue. The fact of the matter is, this is how the product was designed. If and when I see them come out with a "version 2" I will contact them about a possible swap or pay for a smaller can. I'm honestly not too worried about it... I was simply posting what i thought would be beneficial for other Evo X owners.

I didn't realize only positive reviews were allowed on this forum LOL...

John

Edit: I did take a second to reread my first post and I think I did come off more angry than I actually am...hard to express emotion correctly through the forum... I'll leave my original statements there so everyone can jump on my case about me complaining before contacting a manufacturer.

I have the Buschur "Quiet" exhaust on my IX and the muffler loves to scrape. My car is lowered, but still there is a lot of room for the muffler to be tucked up under the body better. I do love how mine sounds though too.

I have this exhaust on my X and I have EPIC size speed bumps in my housing complex with 0 issues. But I dont drive over the EPIC size bumps at 15 to 30MPH pretending to be a ralley driver.

I love these side arguments going on in this thread...

As for the Buschur Exhaust it does appear that the clearance can get close to the ground and large speedbumps could pose a challenge. I think my factory Aero has 4.25" ground clearance now vs 5.5" from the factory after I lowered it. Can you measure the actual ground clearance for reference on your factory ride height car? The coke can is a good estimate but actual numbers from someone with the exhaust would help.

So far I love the ETS exhaust, although I'm very glad I got the UR Mini Muffler as the tone gets quite loud under throttle! I must be getting older haha, but man the car is starting to come alive. My Evo 8 had a Buschur exhaust and I loved how that sounded and performed. It's possible that Dave could look into an alternative part to give better clearance at the customer's request, it wouldn't hurt to call them although this happens to be the Buschur Shootout weekend.

Wow, that's a bummer about the exhaust sitting low. I had the same issue with an aftermarket stainless steel exhaust on my GTO which also was not lowered. I just learned to live with going slow over bumps with the occasional scraping, which I did for over 3 years. When I removed the exhaust before I turned the car back into GMAC (end of lease), it was pretty scratched up and dinged in spots but it had no holes. It basically held up just fine. Here's hoping yours does as well.

However, I do appreciate your posting about the issue. I've dealt with many different tuner and part mfg shops over the years, there's no reason you should feel obligated to call them first when you want to post a review. I'd only call them if the part was defective, not when its a design "issue" as appears to be the case here. In the end, I'd much rather read a full, good and/or bad, review then just have the good reviews from people who want to convince everyone else that they made the right decision when they put a new shiny on their toy.

Holy Hannah!

I've got two PMs and an email about this thread. Sorry I couldn't get to it sooner. My wife is massively ill with morning sickness that lasts all day, so my daddy, husband, and household duties are in a whirlwind right now.

Next person that types "JDM" in this thread is getting banned for a week... Just kidding, but please keep the threads on topic. If you want to start a thread about your opinion on the quality of USA built parts vs. Japanese built parts, by all means do it. I have only soft deleted the content, and can import the necessary posts into a new thread if needed. PM me.

This thread needs to stay on topic so we can find a resolution for the OP. For what its worth, I have used Buschur and anytime I have an issue, they are very quick to help. IMO they have excellent customer service. PM Jarrod. He'll do what he can to help you.

Seth

Mine sits that low but there is plenty of clearance. I go over speed bumps ALL THE TIME and I don't scrape them at all. Make sure the catback is on tight and not wobbling around. I don't know, but I don't have any scrapping problems and I have 7 thousand miles on the exhaust. I live near a city and the roads are brutal here as well.

I love how people are so fast to jump on a person for stating their opinion on a forum. IT IS AN OPINION. I think its good that someone gave a review about a product that they purchased, good or bad. The manufacturer was not bashed. The customer just does not care for the craftsmanship of a product.
A purchaser of a product does not have to call the manufactuer to ask permission before they state an opinion. If i bought a can of PEPSI and did not like it, I kust didnt like it. It is my choice. Im not going to call PEPSI Co. to ask permision to state wheather or not it is ok to tell someone my experience with their beverage.

I like the way the BUSHUR exhaust looks. It sounds great. I went with the Greddy TIC for the reason that it does not sit as low as the BUSCHUR.

The guy didnt bash the company. He stated an experience with the product.

If a tuner blew up your motor stock motor on the dyno while tuning, and didnt eat the cost of the repair due to his/her neglegence , would you recommend/advocate their work?............I dont think one would unless they were a mindless Lemming.

I for one don't think there was much if any bashing going after the OP. People were just asking if he contacted BR about the issue...
"Hey BR my exhaust is sitting kinda low and scraping on some speed bumps, Just an FYI"
"Hey BR my exhaust is scraping on some speed bumps, Any way we can get it tucked up higher"

I completely understand that the OP is still happy with his exhaust despite the inconvenience and that's cool, But maybe BR has'nt heard about the issue and would like to correct it for future customers as well as maybe the OP. Just seems like courtesy to me to let a MFG know if you have a suggestion/issue/annoyance. That's one of the great things about having a vendor in the U.S. a call away. I don't see anything wrong with the thread and see no negativity from the OP.

I welcome the OP's comments.

I'm a little surprised that these types of threads don't appear more often on this board.

It seems like alot of vendors complain and get the threads canned, or get the posts questioning them within the threads canned.

I'm not accusing Buschur of this, but I know other vendors have done it.
