I don't think that there is a turbo car that doesn't have turbo lag........

Oh wait, some super charged + turbo charged (dual forced induction) cars have virtually no turbo lag........

Do you have an GSR or MR?? On the MR that is a big part of sport and s-sport modes. when you slow down it downshifts to keep you in the power band to keep a handle on the turbo lag as much as posible. In normal it is there to save you at the pump by keeping the revs low.

I had a 335i prior to the MR and there was almost no observable lag with the small twin turbo set up. Power came on right away and felt linear all the way to the top.

^ Yes the 335i does not experience any turbo lag due to the two small twin turbos and the torque on that thing is insane

Turbo lag = the time to pressurize your intake from the turbo charger to the combustion chamber.

Unless your turbo charger is pressurizing your intake from idle, it will have turbo lag no matter how many or small your turbo is.
