+1 SE and you should do this too!

This is my first Evo and everything is new to me. First thing I noticed was the 1st and 2nd gears were bit notchy and hard to get in. I spoke to Devin at Speed Element and he said it's pretty common for Evo.

So I stopped by today and Devin suggested that I change my tranny fluid with some kind of cocktail mix. Not sure what the actual mix is, I'll let Dev chime in... All I have to say is that I am glad that I did and it's so damn smooth now! I didn't want to stress the synchors so much that I eventually start grinding the synchors.

Thanks Dev and the SE crew!

Oh and I picked up the Perrin short anntana while I was at it. It look so much better now. Will pickup some air filter later as well...

I'm running the AMSOIL MTG and love it. The notchiness will still be there, but the shifts are much smoother compared to the OEM fluid.

yeah, i don't know, this mix is just so much better than OEM... I didn't want the risk of my grinding out the synchors... I do a lot of local driving in my commute so I frequent 1st and 2nd gears... It's just my personal opinion and it's working great for me. I'll let SE post my mix or I'll find out and post here...
