Shifter improvements?

Has anyone done anything to improve the shifting on an evo x gsr, i just ordered some works shifter bushings, hopefully this will help a little, is there any fluid upgrade, different bushings, trans/engine mounts, or a short throw shifter out there that may help, i will try whatever, i do plan on taking car to the track once and a while.

Fluid upgrade will almost always help a little, and I am pretty positive there is already at least one short throw shifter kit out there. At any rate, you bought a 30ish-k sports car with the performance of a 90k one, you can't expect everything to be equal to a 90k one

I have the TWM short shifter that I ordered with their solid base bushings and I also have the AMS underhood shifter bushings. The difference in throw length is immediately noticeable. The first few times you drive the car after it's installed it feels like you're barely even moving the shifter to shift gears.

The bushings make shifting feel very positive and precise. They take some of the rubbery feel out of the stock shifter.

Overall, I'm very happy with the shifter and the bushings

We are making a short throw shifter, shift bushing as well as a billet front motor mount. We have have been testing them all on our shop car for the last few weeks and plan a release of all three parts next week.

I would be up for a large discount on all of the above for the first few guys to get some feedback.

Send me a PM.

Thanks,

Mike

Good to hear that, so far we have had great feedback on the Evo X short shifter!

30% throw reduction is a great improvement over the stock unit and the dual bend in the shifter places it in a more comfortable position for the driver.

i am seriously considering a short throw shifter. when shifting into second gear, it feels like im moving my whole arm back behind the seat; and my arm seems really close to my body...over all it just feels awkward. did you guys have this issue to?

how do dealerships feel about short shifters and bushings?

by the way, sadly, this reminds me of my dad's 1989 ranger lol.
