Interesting weight find & other observations today which swapping the clutch...
ACT streetlight flywheel: 12.25#
Stock OEM flywheel: 12.25#
So... is it worth it? Maybe. It's possible that the weight is actually shifted more toward the inside of the flywheel therefore making it feel lighter than the OEM (weight on the outside of a spinning disk has more inertia than weight on the inside -- yes, yes physics nerds, mass).
Random observations:
- having someone who's done hundreds of VIII and IX clutches do your X is WAAAAAAY simpler than doing it yourself. I would have had 0% chance of completing the job in a weekend, let alone 1 day (other than the tools I don't have [like a hoist and the special one to remove the axles] there was just so many little things that KevinD just knew that made the job simpler).
- Diaqueen smells like.... money. Wet, moldy, been in the lockerroom over christmas break money.
- The 100 clips that hold the undertrays on looked like a lot of fun to take off.
- A stock clutch makes a lot of dust when it's down past the rivets
- The UR o2 housing is WAY easier to remove when the axles are out and the xfer case is moved out of the way
- R&R a VIII alternator is a very cuss-worthy job and I don't want to have to do one
ETA: Mitsu also put a hanger on the top of the transmission, making it a lot easier to use a hoist to get in and out (balanced) vs. a VIII/IX.

The engagement point moved down a bit (maybe an inch?). It now feels like my wifes G35 Coupe ('03) in stiffness and engagement (meaning more on/off vs. slippage and a bit stiffer than stock).
