Back ON topic, I think both exhausts look sick.

Depending on who makes it, how it is prepared, what (if any) spices are used in the recipe, the path that it must cross in order to get to me (prepared in Japan and flown to me?), and various other pieces of information... maybe. That is my opinion, you may have one that differs from mine based on your own criteria.

Someone that pays $4000.00 for an exhaust that doesn't perform as good as one made for $800.00 isn't that bright and obviously trying to over compensate for lack of in other areas. There comes a point in price of an object that it gets ridiculous.

$4000.00 for a catback, would be one of them. I could see if the cat back weighed 8.69lbs, gained 103.4 whp and you got laid from every chick to sit in your car because of the carefully designed exhaust notes to stimulate a feminine body part on the opposite sex...but this isn't the case.....

IMHO The "race exhaust" IS beautiful, and I think it is a tad overpriced, but not ridiculously overpriced.

On a side note, I just took 5 mins really quick, to price out Titanium 3.5" Tubing

Titanium has DROPPED in the last 3 years (price per pound) which should reflect in exhaust pricing, but I guess it doesn't apply to JDM exhaust manufacturers... but as soon as Carbon fiber shortages hit, the price sure does seem to go up... a little one sided? I think so...

http://www.metalprices.com/FreeSite/metals/ti/ti.asp

Ti is $2.42 PER INCH... so Almost $30.00 a foot, for 3.50" Ti Exhaust Tubing.
Grab 12ft of Ti (extra to compensate for Angled cuts) . - $360.00
Ti muffler 3.5 inlet- approx $600.00 USD
Shipping - $xxx.xx
Welding - $xxx.xx
cuting- $10.00 per cut (I only count 4-5 on a single exit 5-6 degree angled cuts sits the muffler at a nice slanted "jdm look")

The race exhaust is pretty nice, 2200 isn't too bad for a titanium set-up.

I'm sure you're familiar with this... And no, I didn't contradict myself.

Titanium can only be bent so far before it cracks, hence the need for welds.

I wonder if the pipe hangs down low like all the other single exit exhaust systems for X I've seen do. That would be a deal breaker for me. But it would allow me to install the SSP SST oil cooler.

Now I just need to sell my MR2 and not buy a street bike...

Should be able to. Shipping APO to another military address if free. As long as you can get the exhaust to fit in the box that they allow and not get into trouble for large packages showing up at your work it shouldn't be an issue. I know because I have friends that do it and I used to live in Japan and we did it all the time.
