X rs gearbox....

Anyone know of any other front diffs failing on the X rs??

Im trying to locate a front diff for mine as the gearbox is being rebuilt with new bearings etc....

I was thinking a cusco front LSD, any traders on here ship to the u.k.??

Any all help much appreciated.

See pics for fault/damage..

One of the main pins had made its way out of the diff due to roll pin failure and worked it's way through the gearbox casing, the car still drove fine with no nasty noises or faults other than oil leak....

I have more pics I just have to resize them, I will post them soon..

The pin in the picture has another pin running through the centre of it which snapped allowing the larger main pin to work it's way out....

The picture of the gearbox casing shows the wear caused by the pin rotating on the diff and wearing through the casing, which is the cause of the oil leak.

If it hadnt have leaked oil i wouldnt have known there was a fault...

Is your car modded with huge power? what do you think have caused the snap?
It should be covered under warranty i suppose, but if you wanted to upgrade instead there`s also Ralliart who makes replacement LSD.

Yes mate, but only running 410bhp 400lbs....

I think the failure is a manufacturing fault potentially, but how knows??

It's not covered under warranty, beacuse it's a jdm import the RS was not officially imported to the u.k. To the point that I cant even order the parts I need from my local dealer for the same reason.....

Im trying to locate the trader section on here to make some enquiries......

Could you recommend any????

Thanks

Mark

Mark, be careful mate, the RS definitely has different ratios to a GSR 5MT, both US and UK, have you tried NigelS from MLR, failing that I'd email japanparts, what they don't have they can usual source reasonably quickly

That's what I was thinking. His car was a USDM car though. But the pictures look *exactly* the same.

Edit: here's his thread: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...ne-manual.html

Any links to pics etc?

It would be interesting to see the outcome of the repairs etc.

What a nightmare come true, I have only owned it a few weeks, driven it twice before it started leaking.....
