Motor blew up :(
I used to run 25psi on my Laser for 2 years (no tune) with no problem. I paid 600 for the hoopty I didn't care if that blew up, and I beat the crap out of it haha. If the MBC was the problem then. Shame on me, like I said I'm kind of new to the EVO community, I'll live and learn. Break a few more things and learn even more.
lol not sure about the evoX's but my 9 on the highway is running 3k-3.5k rpm and yes i know thats how its suppose to be. Just scares the sh*t out of me b/c i've heard engines blowing up just cruising 70.
I never really drove my car much either. In the past 4 months I put about 2.5k miles on it. I know people who run 23psi on there X w/ a MBC no tune that have 25k miles on there car and they beat the crap out of there motor. Guess I'm unlucky, but thats nothing new to me haha.
I wonder if me running my car for the 18hours straight could of played a huge roll to haha. but I think 70mph is like 3.1k rpm in the X
That sucks *****. I would figure that an evo X with only 14k miles with oil change on the regular would be alright. My evo 8 has 44k miles and is DD and I beat the crap out of it everyday.. But what do you think really caused that to happen?

I was at 21psi.. The car broke sitting around -10vac.... I'm not worried about the dealer replacing my motor. My plan was to get the motor sleeved and run a stroker kit anyways. Just wasn't planning on doing that so soon lol.. Guess I will start my build early. The only thing I am really mad about is I can't turn my block in as a core, since the lower half of the block is messed up, and I have a rod size hole threw the sleeve and block itself. On the bright side I didn't crash and die on the way home
. Gotta look at the positives
There was a guy with a lightly modded 8 who was just cruising home one day and his motor blew. Cracked the tranny case and killed the tranny as well. He had to replace nearly the entire drivetrain. Nobody could figure out why. His tune was very mild, about 21 psi was all the car had seen. Strange case. Similar to this one. Probably just a Monday motor and nothing you did.
