turbo timer

Hey Ive got a 2009 Lancer Ralliart and was wondering do I need a turbo timer? I let the turbo spoll down by idleing the engine for a moment is that not what a turbo timer dose?

Yeah that's what a turbo timer does. Lets the engine run a bit to clean the oil out of the turbo. I don't know if you need one cause you already let the car idle after your done driving it. But I put one on my X so when I drive it hard I just get out of the car and go inside the house while the cars idling then it turns off. Pretty useful if your too lazy to sit in the car for a minute.

Sorry completely new to this:

If you install turbo timer, do you have to leave the key in the ignition or have one installed in the car somewhere?

No, you take the key out of the ignition (or fast key walk away) and the car will idle for a set amount of time (depending on run time or a preset time set by you).
