Lost boost when I went back to stock BOV?

So I recently sold my HKS BOV to go back to the stock one. But what I noticed afterward, is that full boost comes at 300 RPM slower and 5 PSI less! What the heck? I checked all the hoses, everything seems to be tight, I have no idea what is wrong with my car.

My mods are...

T1R intercooler pipes
Agency power intake
Cobbs stage 2 93+SF

Edit:

So I might have found the reason for this. Apparently the stock BOV opens up at certain PSI, this is perhaps the reason it is spooling slower. Also, when I take a look at the datalog, I get virtually NO knocks compared to the HKS BOV SSQV, probably because I was running VTA instead of recur.

Hm.

That's an odd one...

Did you remove the boost pill to do the Stg 2?

That's funny. I removed my HKS SSQV and put the stocker back on... you can definitely notice a difference... I have a feeling that the stock diverter valve is leaking under pressure.

Hate to admit it but... I actually miss my HKS! lol

I am having the sme problem, I was having issues with the car shutting off under part throttle boost like in 4th and or 5th gear, but when I changed the BOV back to the stock one it does not do it at all anymore. I can actually hear the Bov leak sometimes lol. I also went to the track the other night and could only make a 13.3 pass or something like that and the mph was way down, the only mods are the boost is turned up to like 24 and and have a full exhaust. so I dunno, my guess is as good as yours.

what was this cheap fix that you speak of, because I still have an HKS as well but it was creating way to much flutter in the intake and throwing the maf way out of wack and then shutting the car off

Damn it, Oliver is keeping so many secrets from me!

At least now I don't have to get a new BOV

Flip the stock BOV around. Instead of boost pressure pushing up on the piston and opening the valve, the pressure pushes down on top of the piston and keeps it closed, just like the HKS.

No messing around about it. Why wouldn't it work?
