throttle issues

well sometimes when driving down the highway my car will get this issue where the gas pedal has no response until it is pressed almost 75% of the way down, and then it is full throttle only, the only way to fix the issue is to pull over and shut the car off for a bout 20 seconds then it is fine. I have made so many damn MY CAR IS BROKE threads because everything keeps breaking and this damn thing just is a headache, I really wanna win this battle with the car before giving up and the dealership has no clue whats going on so I'm lost.

make a video of this on your camera or on your camera phone and bring it into the dealership, then they will do something about it. At least if a tech see it, he may have an idea of what might be needed. could just require an ECU flash

I don't know what a video will do, or how you would begin to film your foot depressing the pedal while showing the gauges are not responding linearly. The explanation just given in the post is pretty simple and straightforward. If the dealership can't understand that then they won't get much else.

Are the X's throttle-by-wire?

Well I don't know if you have done any mods, If you have put a intake on it's possible you knocked the wire on the throttle body. It sounds like a bad wire on the throttle body possibly, since yes the evo is throttle by wire. Just my 2 cents.

It sounds like it would be indicative of the sensor responsible for translating pedal position to actual throttle position. Could be a wire, but turning the car off and on wouldn't necessarily fix a wire, but reset the electronics responsible for that pedal-to-throttle translation. Sounds like your dealership isn't trained properly to troubleshoot Evo X issues. No surprise, since many weren't all that up to snuff on the 8's and 9's, either.

This sounds to be an issue with the zero points on the TB and the pedal . The zero points are the start and end points of both the TB and pedal . We have seen this twice before and it was fixed by having the dealer do a reflash which makes everything get in order .

What mods have you done? Did you do anything maintenance or upgrade related when it started?
