I had an act in my viii and will not buy another. It will be a twin for me this time. Once it got a little wear i had lockout issues in 4th even after adjusting the clutch pedal. I don't want to deal with lockout issues again. It was a common problem, as i wasn't the only one...

Personal experience...stay away from the ACT. I'm running 508 wheel and 426ft lbs on my daily driver X, and the ACT is fried. Not sure about the Excedy, but Ive heard that it holds up just fine unless you are going to be doing some significant launching.

Yup I have an ACT 6 puck with heavy duty pressure plate and have never had any lock up issues. I'm also driving around with 45xwhp/35xwtq on GST's dyno with a dominator 2.0 and the clutch has been holding up fine. I do notice what other people are talking about how when it was brand new, it engaged much lower but not after 3,000 miles it seems to engage all the way at the top. I don't know if that is due to it wearing down or what but other then that I have no problem with it.

Anyone else have input on the life of the Exedy Twins with daily driving? I'm currently eyeing one as I'm at 22k miles on my stocker and plan on upping the power again soon. I'll need a new clutch sooner than later and the Exedy Twin HD is on the top of my list as of now.

if you drive like you have sense I dont see any reason why you cant get 50-60k out of them before rebuild. I have almost 20k on my cusco twin and she still holds 500hp like its nothing

lthought if you have the extra cash laying around i would get a execy triple and never go in there again

Please no act if i were you spend the money on a good clutch the first time so you don't have to do it again . Go with a tilton twin or triple that will be my first choice . My second would be a exedy but i would put an extra 2 wave springs in so you don't have the spring pop out on you good luck.
