Accelerated onto expressway then extreme misfiring...
To be honest it sounds like these guys aren't experienced with turbocharged motors. Either that or they think you're the dumb average car buyer who doesn't know their *** from their elbow.
I'd demand a compression check and I'd also demand they inspect the cylinders with a bore scope. If they decline take it to a reputable shop and bill them for the labor.

That thing about something coming off the cat and fouling the plugs is the most bogus thing I've ever heard, especially for a turbo motor. Did you ask them if that means that the turbine is sometimes spinning in reverse? Or you could have them try to explain how it could be possible for diffusion through the air to be faster than the speed that exhaust gases flow through the exhaust manifold runners. I guess they think you're clueless. Definitely call BS on it and/or take your Evo to a different dealership.

Yeah totally. I will ask these questions today. It sounds to me like they have a "wizard" on the end of a phone line somewhere telling them what to do with no logic attached. The Service Manager agreed to do an in person compression test today. This should be interesting.

Thanks for that man. I did read your statement and I do appreciate your opinion and respecting my stance on this. I would be all for forged pistons and rods installed by the dealer. I may run that by them if and when we get to that stage.

I picked up my car. Turns out they would not do a compression test for me.
The Service Manager told me straight up that:
They did a borescope on the turbo and the fins all looked good, borescope on all the cylinders and they all looked very good, and a compression test last time I was in and all cylinders had full compression and were consistent. He kept saying my engine is running strong and there is nothing wrong with any of the internals.
I am going in again tomorrow to check out the damaged catalytic converter, get my side skirts either replaced or adjusted, and front rubber piece on the front end replaced.
When I get a chance I am going to do my own compression test just to be sure. If that is any different than what they are telling me I will bring back.
