Full TBE -> Stock Muffler

I currently have full turbo back exhaust (o2 dp & UR cat pipe) going back to a megan catback. I enjoy the sound of the exhaust most times, but I hate driving through my neighborhood late at night or trying to maintain a professional image around work with this exhaust.

I understand that the megan is one of the quietest on the market, but obviously not quiet enough for me. I would prefer to go back to the stock muffler mainly for sound purposes but I would also enjoy the visually stealth benefit it would have.

So... I"m getting tuned this week and want to make up my mind before. Does anyone currently have a full TBE going to the stock muffler? What kind of power are you making?

I appreciate the input in advance.

what about the T1R or Blitz catback, those 2 are said to be the quiestest exhausts on the market for the X. The blitz is only 1Db higher than stock. But if you really want to go stock cat back the performance wont take much of a hit, maybe 5-10hp? But if you want to go bigger power you will need full 3 inch.

T1R is using a soup can for their exhaust tips so you might aswell go back to stock if you wanna go stealth.

Yeah, I'm also not that excited about paying $900 just for a muffler and a couple feet of piping.

I doubt I'll be going any higher powerwise for a while as I have an MR.

- I know there has got to be someone that has been tuned with a downpipe and stock muffler. Would love to hear your thoughts.

I'm not sure if B&B makes a muffler for the X but I have one on my IX and love it for how quiet it is but still makes great pwr. 338whp 91oct / 395whp E85 bolt ons with Megans O2, Megans DP, test pipe and B&B cat back.

It's as quiet as you can get when you're just crusin around and opens up nicley at WOT.

I am similar to you, but I also have a UR upper IC pipe as well.
I have a UR O2 DP, a UR resontated test pipe, and also a UR cat-back.

I was Ecuflash tuned on a Dyno Dynamics.
The stock exhaust vs. the UR was only 9whp difference. The sound difference is massive. I only lost 9whp on the stock exhaust, and it sounded just like stock. I've considered going back more than once.

For reference, a fully stock X on this dyno makes about 215whp.

Red is all mods listed above.
Blue is same but with stock exhaust.

Well I've thought about doing an electric cutout possibly. I bet the 4B11T would sound AWESOME with the cutout every once and a while but I know I could never DD with it upen 24/7.

Doesn't the sound also depend on resonators and a CAT? If it does, then will putting back the stock muffler alone alleviate most of your noise problems?
