threw a c161e code

The AP says it something with the ACD, but I cannot find any info on this.

Just did a clutch install, didn't disconnect the t case from the acd so I have no clue.

edit: ok I found the code in the SM. It's the awc pump. WTF could be the problem with the awc pump?

OK I found a thread about the pump. There was no resolution. Apparently the pumps have been going out. My car is highly modded and I just did a clutch replacement. I think I am screwed with the warranty but I can give it a try.

Same thing just happened to me after I had my clutch installed yesterday. Anyone else run into this during a clutch install? It's too coincidental the pump went out the same time I swapped my clutch. Did my mechanic forget a step? I even had him put fresh diaqueen gear oil in the diff and TC. Anyone?

Anyone know more about the subject???

My car has been whining like crazy in the last few months. Last week dealer told me they fixed the wiring to the pump; but last night it whined again, then stopped, and threw this code. ARGGHH!!

I'm having the same problem after a clutch install and diff fluid change. Took it to the service dept. They power bled it, and the problem went away for a week until this weekend. The first time my car slid (autocross), the code is back.
