Not really. You're being dramatic. I have the original hood latch and my car doesn't catch fire every time I drive. And I've driven dozens of times in the snow down to -8* F, and at elevations of 11,000ft plus without any problems from the S-AWC or the car in general.

Aren't there WRX/STi guys on NASIOC guys with '08-'09s having whole motors replaced due to problems from the factory? Maybe they could use your pessimism over there.

not cold enough..ask the guys in Edmonton about the AYC diff motor problem when you get to -30-40C. I'd like the update just in case.

With global warming, does anybody really need the recall?

Mine is done, that was quick and painless. The fuel line is same design as the old one, they put a new one in just in case that one was damaged and added two brackets. Once you reinstall the plastic cover. You would never know anything was different. The AWC reprogram takes less than 5 mins.

I went to the dealer yesterday and my fuel line recall appeared on the computer but nothing about the AWC or hood latch. I even specifically asked about them but they said we have no information about that.

The AWC system should also come up on the Super Screen, but it also only applies to cars built within a certain date, vin range and sold within a certain geographical area. The hood latch may have been performed before you bought it or already updated at the factory.

Such as myself

I had my ACD pump replaced. 7+ hours of labor and a $4000 CAD part. Quite the bill at the end of it, first time I've ever had to use a warranty.

It noticeably "went" on a -35˚C day. Then the Service Required light came on and stayed on until I finally got the dealer to replace it almost 5 months later.

I'll take the reflash, thank you very much.

+1 on that. Mine went out in November (-30˚C) and the service required light was on until May the next year when the pump was replaced.

I've been wondering what was going to happen this winter since the pump and fluid is the same. I hope this is a fix for it although I thought it was a mechanical fluid problem, not something that could be solved by programming.

Not likely. AWC has a separate Computer/control-unit that communicates with the main ECU over the CAN bus I believe, unless somebody's gonna come along and tell me I'm on crack and that I'm talking outta my a$$ !
