yes

mini muffler does not clean the spent gases.... a HFC will, maybe not to the extent of a stock cat, but I cannot notice any smell with my HFC now. I did notice the smell with the test pipe.

If you sit in alot of trafiic it kind of sucks otherwise... it is up to you.

ROGUE:

YEah trying not to have that smell either, so it seems hfc is the way to go for me with stock catback.

If your still on the stock turbo... is going with a hfc and an ams 02 dp for example.. keeping the stock catback... is it that a big problem with robbing power.. how much power is being robbed? or is it not that big of a deal since its on the stock turbo, stock cams, etc?

Also, fluguycfi how much boost you making and tq with your setup.. seems quite powerful for the mods? or is that pretty much average? Still learning about these cars.

Get a test pipe, it makes people behind you stay at least 10 feet from the back of your car because it smells. This is a great way to get those extreme tail gaters off your back and from rear ending your car whenever you need to brake hard.

Doing the Down-Pipe might not help you much with a stock turbo, especially if you are paying for the part change. Just going for a HFC and catback will help you get a little louder while keeping you legal. The Cobb Catback is interesting in this regard since they say its noise levels are guaranteed to be below the government approved maximum sound levels. you can find it at http://www.rallysportdirect.com

Im running 25PSI and got 358whp/344wtq.

Baseline on that dyno is like 250whp, so I'm looking at about 108whp gain to compare that to others here on the forum. Seems about average. I told Scott to tune it conservatively (very low knock) as it is my DD so I'm sure he could get more out of it if I wanted.

Back from the dead. So I have ams tbe with test pipe and it's way too loud for me. Kind of raspy as well. Debating on buying the ams resonated test pipe (mini muffler) or getting a hfc installed. Which will make the biggest difference in sound and will the cat eliminate the rasp?

I am selling the AMS Cat right now in the for sale forum...

Honestly, I put and AMS resonated test pipe on and it sounds the same as the High flow cat... I did that this past weekend.

The resonated test pipe with the mini muffler? So it sounds about the same as the high flow cat but makes mire power? I'm leaning towards the resonated tp from ams
