I know that there has been a million threads talking about turning the TPMS light off.. but is there a fuse or something that u could pull? in my friends mazda he pulled his sunroof fuse and it disabled the TPMS. just curious...

well ive pulled 2 so far and neither have workd. i tried the sunroof and another one but i cant remember the other one. lol

yes keep pulling..i hate everytime someone opens a door or my trunk opens i get that annoying thing pop up

 

I'm really hoping you find the right fuse.

 

I don't believe there is a way to turn off the TPMS. Do you not have the sensors in your wheels? Only some vehicles come with the option of turning them off due to winter months and different wheels.

 

It would be nice if there was that option to turn it of or at least have the ability to learn two sets of sensors. Why the car only has enough memory to learn one set is beyond me.

 

The "why" is pretty obvious to me. Here we have a car that ships with summer tires, so there are 3 options for the owners of Evos they sell in colder climates:

1) Replace the summer tires with all-seasons and be done with it.
2) Keep a winter and summer tire set and swap them back and forth on the same wheels
3) Purchase two sets of wheels, one for summer/winter

1 is very rare and both 2 & 3 have a pretty good chance of bringing in additional money for the dealerships, so we have our answer.

 

I agree with what you are saying and for myself option 3 is the best. That way I don't have to wait to make an appointment to get the tires changed over and then have the inconvenience of waiting around while they change them.
But with that said you can't tell me that they couldn't of allocated enough memory in the ECU to remember two sets of sensors so you don't have to have them programed each time you swap the tires. Kind of defeats the purpose of saving time getting a new set of rims and tires. I mean look at the S-AWD...that is some programming wizardy... so it shouldn't be that difficult to allow a way so two sets of sensors be remembered for the vehicle.
Your probably right...just a way for them to make more money...grrrrrrr.

 

Okay well I guess I'm kinda giving up on the fuse idea. I've pulled some and it hasn't worked yet.

But I started thinking, Where is the reciever for the sensors? Is it something that you can unplug? I found this.. I've never seen it before and don't know what it is. Could this be it? It is stuck way back behind everything. The first pic is just to show the the generic location. In the second picture it is that metal circle piece. I didn't have time to unplug it tho. Do any of ya'll know what this is? Sorry about the crappy phone pics, BTW.
