this may be a little late for this but im a little confused about the debate between 3.0 in and 3.5 in

this may just be and old school v8 thing or an n/a thing but isnt going to big of a diameter with out the exhaust volume to fill it going to kill the velocity of the exhaust which would in turn mess with the spooling?

because as i were to understand it, ideal exhaust diameter was to be determined with a happy medium of volume and velocity to attain peak performance accross the board. that said 3.5 may very well be the correct diameter for stock or high boost and may do benefits for both but i find it a little hard to believe it would attain peak performance for both.

so more psi=more volume= bigger diameter to attain max trade off with velocity
and less psi=less volume=smaller diameter to attain the perfect combo...

that said anyone know from dynos or tuning what that diameter is?

That is a N/A ideal. Turbo the exhaust size, mainly the bigger the better. You want the least amount of restriction as possible.

so by that theory a 5 in pipe stickin out of the fender is best?

and for the record im talking about street strip cars not full drag applications
