what determines and engines RPM max?

all this paranoia with a aluminum block should be thrown out the door especially seeing what hondas can do...

The aluminum block is the least of our worries. I think everyone is more worried with the semi open deck. The cylinders are the weak point if you'll be revving up to 9000 but the cylinders wont be aluminum, there's no way (of coarse im talking about if you have a built motor). i wanna know what the point of no return is with the cylinders.
