AFI turbo kit
AFI turbo kit
I see quite a bit about ETS turbo kits, and people saying to stay away from AFI/Agency Power kit. I know the ETS kit is nice, but if I could get an afi kit at a substantial discount, why shouldnt I?
I've searched, but cannot find out why there is such animosity toward the AFI/Agency Power kit. Are they a pos? Poor design? Why does everyone seem to hate them?

We have been running our kit without any issue on our shop vehicle for quite some time now. If you have any questions on our kit please feel free to call down here to the shop and i will be more than happy to answer any of your questions.

PM Sent! One of the main differences is a top mount design (ETS) vs bottom mount design (AFI) - We build a top mount manifold to keep the runners away from the Cam Sensors and electronics, this puts the heat next to the engine instead of the components in your engine bay.

The other thing i didnt mention is the fact that agency power and the afi kit are not one in the same. We used to produce their kits then they outsourced somewhere else. Our kits have seen a vast improvement since.
ETS FTW... Spend your money right the first time and avoid any hassles or problems. I bought a turbo manifold from one of the company's you are talking about and lets say it put me in a very bad position, where I was paid to attend an event and would have not made i if it wasn't for Micheal getting me a ETS top mount next day air Saturday delivery so I can make it to the event. The problem I had with the 1st manifold bought from one of the other companies, was that one of the runners was hitting the head and the flange to the head did not sit all the way flush. So I got a refund from them and bought a ETS manifold.
I say go with the ETS kit, might be a little more $ but at least it's money spent right. Non the less, good luck with what ever choice you decide.

Full-race, AMS, AFI, ETS, shearer make the best manifolds, Its a preference thing when your talking the top companies in the game, there is not one considerably better than the next, sorry but there just isn't. They all make the best quality products possible.
AFI makes the best manifold for my application, that's why i bought it.

Ya afi/agency power are nothing alike. I had AFI's twin scroll 3076r kit on my old evo 8. Let me tell you the welds on that thing were a work of art!! I got a lot more compliments than my friends AMS kit. Anyhow afi = quality! And if I go big on my X I'll use them again. ; )
