As soon as I read the title I was thinking about the old 1G DSM BOV days. 2G's came with that crappy plastic POS but the 1G BOV was a solid piece.

 

Might be time for me to crush my stocker just a bit. I'm thinking its the source of my loss in power (boost leak).

 

I never said he wanted to make a dime. I'm suggesting it may be a viable service for someone to offer. It just seems like a good idea?.
Works sells a stockish unit for 269. Charge 75 for a crush and test (excluding core charges) and people might take you on.

Bad things can happen if you f-up your DV you know.

 

This should be something a competent tuner can do quick while your car is on the dyno. Pop it off your car, vice it, reinstall tune..done

Yes you need a protune for it to be running correctly. You're increasing your boost by crushing the bov, and the stage 2 map won't be ready for this.

 

I crushed my ix bpv today down to where the nipple meets the larger portion of the bpv.... I had been holding about 22.5 to 22.3 psi at 7krpm, now I"m holding 23psi solid. So I gained a bit. Guess it wasn't leaking to much. BTW my peak is 27psi to about 5500rpm then tapering to 23 now. Had to retune my wastegate maps because after crushing I was overboosting from about 4krpm on. Was leaking a bit I suppose.
