From what I have seen on our local dyno, it spools a bit slower, but the bbx car had a tubular vs my stock ported mani and it makes a bit more power.

All in all, I think they are pretty close in power and the Red wins in spool.

I have a ported manifold from PPI, hope it helps the BBX

I've got about 200 miles on my BBX now, no problems. Ordered on wed July 21st, it was on my doorstep the following wednesday July 28th, ported and all! Dropped the turbine housing at MAP Thursday at noon, started pulling stock turbo that night. Finished pulling stock turbo friday after work quick, picked up turbine housing from MAP, and had it re-attached with the rest of the BBX and in the car bolted down and running a few hours later. Except for a few very rare cases, I've yet to see service/speed like this out of FP (but their products are still pretty badass!).

Hey now, I told you about mine

My FPred was at my doorstep like 5-6 days after I ordered and it was ported. My guess is that they had one in stock though. FP for sure is a little slower if they don't have them in stock. But awesomeness is worth the wait!

All I meant was, if FP (or a distributor) has one in stock (like in your case and a few others I know) people get them quickly (obviously). CBRD turbos are made-to-order afaik so you can pick big, little, different wgas (only one needed right now) and porting or unported. If they could do ceramic coating as well w/o a huge time wait, they'd have it made (I'm a huge fan of coating upgraded hotside components).

Yea, I know what you are saying and more or less agree, my black took some time, but I feel as though it is worth the wait if its what you want. A turbo is a big decision.

I also am a fan of the coating Mine is now coated and done, going to pick it up at MAP as we speak.

What intake are you using? I ask because I've run out of MAF with a similar build.

What do you mean by "run out of MAF"? You mean the air supply is your limiting factor because of the MAF housing? Are you running a OEM housing, or something else to get to that point?

He's probably right at the limit or just past the limit of the stock maf housing if he's still running that aem intake.

The stock maf housing (~2.5" diameter) maxes out around 400whp on a mustang, AMS (or other 3" maf housing) seems to peter out not much higher than that, around 430-450 on a mustang (IIRC).

Is the limitation in the intake, or in the turbo compressor inlet? I dunno the sizes of th various 'big' turbo compressor inlets, but I'd be surprised if there's anything over 3".
