Did a stiffer Front motor mount really improve your shifting?
Hey guys,
I've read a couple posts that stated that a stiffer motor mount helped reduce the notchiness of the transmission and improved overall shift quality.
I'm somewhat skeptical, I find this a little hard to believe as even shifting with very light acceleration (not much motor movement) causes notchiness, but a high level of acceleration (alot of motor movement) seems to cause less notchiness.
Can you guys positively state that the stiffer motor mount helped?

I won't vote since I haven't done a mount on my X yet, but on my IX it did absolutely make a very noticeable difference during WOT shifts. I honestly don't recall if it changed "normal driving" shifts or not.
after 4k miles and my clutch dieing, then getting replaced along with the flywheel, PP, TOB, all fluids did wonders for my notching/grindy shifting. No problems since. Yet there supposedly wasn't anything wrong with the the OEM crap =/ Go figure....
I'd try at least flushing the trans fluid. I'd suspect theres lots of metal shavings in there from the 'break in'.
Also: 3M window weld + OEM motor mounts = happy driver and happy car. a bit stiffer, but not so much that you want to kill yourself in a DD

I have 41k on my Evo x and I switched the redline mix a year ago and it was a night and day difference, yet I still want it to be better, I also put in bushings at the tranny.
Sitting in the driveway it won't make a darn bit of difference.
Accelerating off the line in a straight line it helps a little to keep the engine from rocking forward and back.
When powering out of a turn, or especially powering out of an S turn where the engine wants to flop from one side to another, shifting is GREATLY improved.
At least that is how I see it.
