Couple of n00b questions regarding making power and tuning...
Hey guys,
I'm thinking about trading in my beater and M3 coupe for an EVO X GSR with the SSS package. I have a couple of questions regarding power...
Is there engine management that is completely user-programmable? I know of Cobb's AP but I was wondering if there's anything else cheaper? I have access to a dyno pretty much 24/7 and have tuned myself as well as have a friend or two who regularly does on the dyno.
Can you acheive 350awhp on the stock turbo/93 octane? If so what mods (ideally) with a tune would do it? Will the stock clutch handle it?
Lastly (not engine related - but feel free to answer if you can!) - I'd like to keep the suspension mods minimal... Can you do just springs and sway bars and still have a competitive HPDE/Open track car?
Thanks EvoM!

Opensource ECUFLASH is the preferred method of tuning. It is very customizable with a good tuner.
350whp (CBE, TP, Intake, UICP, 3 Port) It can be achieved also depends on dyno, temp, elevation etc...
GTworks is making a track package for stock suspension.
I run 28k miles on the stock clutch all of them modded and currently at 442whp on stock clutch. It's more driver than anything.
Rest of the info can be searched.

And what is a "3 port" ?

There is a section dedicated to tuning in ECUFLASH. Is the trade going to break even or will you have to put money on top of the trade? Evo 8/9 are great alternatives: 1) parts are cheaper, 2) cars are cheaper, but not any less of a performance car than the X, 3) 8/9s already modded out there F/S, unless you want a stock one to do the modding yourself.

The 3 port is a boost control solenoid. Just search or google. GM boost solenoid.
