So you have those bolt ons, with stock tune? I would suggest 2 things.... 1) Get a Hard UICP, there are cheaper ones out there, most do the same thing, to avoid flex with the stock rubber crap under boost. 2) get a tune, it is the best bang for the buck, whether it with a Cobb AP, or a custom tune. JUst a tune you'll be a happy camper till you get cash to go to next step. Also crush your stock DV, it is free and worth it... If your not sure how, search or have a tuner do it. Good luckk and happy Moddin.....

Well, since you didn't say how much you can spend, I would go with a UICP and a tune. You will be very happy with the results. You will be shocked at how much more power you will make.

If you can't afford both I would just get a tune because that alone with make the car feel amazing and you can add the UICP later without a re-tune.

It is not a need to replace. The oem licp is actually decent. Most change them cause they want to match their uicp.

I thought you need a re-tune everytime you put a bolt on mod??! Or was it just sales talk from my Tuner? Help

Some people will argue that, but an UICP doesn't do enough to really change a map. It adds some very nice engine bay dress up and helps a good bit spool with very little bit of extra power. The LICP isn't necessarily needed. The reason the UICP needs to be replaced is because most of that is rubber and it expands under boost. Most of the LICP is metal. But you can see the LICP thru the small hole by the drivers side fog light and it looks cool to have matching ones. It is mostly a dress-up mod unless you are going for a new turbo.

^^ thanks for the clarification. So is it worth the money to get an aftermarket UICP even though the car is just being used for DD?

Not sure if you guys checked out the Agency Power IC pipes, but thought I'd throw out some info.

Cheers!

"Much like your rubber brake lines, intercooler hoses expand under boost pressure. This causes a drop in pressure and that results in a loss of power. To combat this, most people replace the factory intercooler pipe connectors with silicone hoses or a new complete hard pipe. Agency Power has taken the Mitsubishi EVO X intercooler piping one step further and has released the all new 1 piece upper intercooler pipe kit. The pipe connects from the top of the front mount intercooler end tank and is 1 piece all the way to the turbo pipe. The 1 piece aluminum pipe features a bracket to secure the intercooler pipe in the factory location. Utilizing mandrel bends, we designed the pipe to have a smooth air flow path without any restrictions. When installed, the intercooler pipe kit will fit securely with plenty of room for the factory engine cover. This kit is available with a diameter of 2.5 inches for improved air flow. (We also offer a 3" kit for high horsepower cars). By installing this pipe kit, you will maintain boost pressure more efficiently, pick up throttle response, and gain horsepower. As tested on a Mustang AWD Dyno with our short ram intake kit, this setup made almost 30 all wheel horsepower.

The pipe kit includes new silicone couplers and clamps for a secure and stylish look. The intercooler pipes are available in polished or gloss red, which also matches our short ram intakes and suction pipes. This part is a direct fit with no cutting or altering OEM components.
