Blow off valve upgrade
Question I just got my Fp black on my car and all my fuel upgrades. I bought a piece of intercooler piping that runs from the Turbo to the top of the intercooler I believe you would call it the Upper intercooler piping. well it came with a Tial Q bov bolted to it. I have the stock tube blocked off and im not recirculating. My car is going to AMS on the 17th to get tuned my question is will it hurt anything that the Tial is in between the turbo and the inlet of the intercooler and not in-between the outlet and the Throttle body? I am about to get my Stock Bov hole off the lower intercooler piping tig welded shut but i want to make sure its okay to run it this way? i plan on getting three maps one on 18psi pump and 28psi and meth and 25-30psi on E85.

Some notes for those considering the Tial Q.
First off, it is a great blow off vavle. That being said, that does not mean it is the right blow off valve for your mostly street driven X.
It is a major chore to tune one, even in full recirc, with the correct spring. Because of the way Tial valves work, it will go open when out of boost. The heavy spring minimizes this, but it does not eliminate it. The effect of this is it can take a lot of time to get the midle of the MAF calibration done correctly. If you are trying to tune one that has a light spring in it, you are going to be very frustrated.
What complicates this is that you don't always get the spring you order, or the spring that is indicated with the paper work. The only way to ensure you get the right spring, is to take it out, and get the 11 pound spring and compare them. I don't think this is Tials fault, but rather more likely due to vendors swapping out the springs to sell a customer a spring, and then not putting the same spring back in the valve.
