Depo Racing FMIC any good?

I'm going to be ordering 1000cc Injector, FP Red, and a FMIC soon. The only piece I'm not sure of is the FMIC on which brand to get. I want something that I wont have to shave the bumper and will basically bolt right up. I just want to make sure it will also work well with the RED.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

ETS will bolt right up. From what I understand, anything that is 3.5" or less will bolt right up. Depo is a GREAT bargain and a good IC. I'll be getting some stuff from Tim when I'm ready to start modding.

3.0" all the way to 4.0" will bolt up with no cutting

Nothing wrong with the Depo per-say, but it is a cheaper unit and you do get what you pay for. Especially if you plan on going with a larger turbo such as the Red I'd look towards an intercooler that uses a better core for a few hundred more dollars such as the AMS, ETS, Perrin, AGP, etc.

Thank's guys! I think I may just go with the ETS 3.5" seems like people have had nothing but good things to say about them. Now I just need to find who has the best price.

My guess is either ETS direct or MAP. The 3.5" would be a fine choice for the stock turbo or a Green size, but I'd do a 4" for a Red or Black size turbo.

Like Kraka said you get what you pay for. Most ebay'ish parts are hit or miss. Some are good and some are not so good.

I'm thinking I might give the Depo a shot...I don't have any plans on upgrading my turbo so this is looking like the best choice for the money.

How's Depo's price compare to an ETS 3"?

A black anodized 3.5" core from Depo runs $460 to your door.

A similar 3.5" ETS is $699 plus shipping ($599 for the 3").

I wouldn't mind seeing a side-by-side comparison of the Depo core compared to ETS's, AMS's, etc.

On an X i would run a 3.5" at the very least, but prefer the 4.0" on all applications. The 4.0" allows for the most power off the X turbo. We gained 22whp with the 4.0" and 17whp with the 3.5" and 15 with the 3.0"

Thanks!

Michael
