T-Case WHY!??

Well it is pretty late here in Cali right now, i should be sleeping but im trippin ***** cuz of the tcase! I recently got a clutch swap so clutch is brand new and all the oil has been changed. When my mechanic did the swap and drained the fluids he found little pieces of broken metal on the magnetic bolt and told me that the t case will go out soon. I didnt think much of it because i was already stressing about all the money i spent on clutch plus labor. But when i started driving the clutch was a bit jerky so i let myself think its the clutch breaking in but its not. Sometimes when i start off or get a bad shift i hear the sound of metal clinging against metal right under my car where the tcase is located. Also when i drive in 5th gear around 40-65 mph you can hear a little whine, will post video tomorrow! Wow this sucks. Evo might have to go for sale cuz i dont have the kind of money to rebuild the tcase

It definitely sounds like something is going on there. I cant make out the metal contact sound your referring to. I had my buddy take a look at the video, he is a mechanic. He says it does sound like t-case or something serious with the trans. Your not having any issues shifting though right?

Hate to say it but I see a new tcase in your future. Have you checked to see if a thicker shock proof gear oil takes some of the noise out? It could also probably prolong the inevitable.

No issues shifting but 4th and 5th gears are the ones that whine most and sounds like its coming from the tranny.
But then when start it off and not gasing it enough I feel the tcase jerk like crazy or the drive shaft. And haven't tried any other oil.

Did you see the metal? Because it is common to have metal shavings on the magnet.

There is no such thing as an Evo X T-case rebuild. "Yet" No one makes a ring and pinion replacement for it yet.
