I don't get it.

Why hasn't anyone suggested he put another stock one in there?

Sounds like a lot of work to have a clutch that will slip with minor bolt ons.

he never said his clutch was slipping though or that he was launching it hard, or that he planned to put a lot of power through it

There has been some concern about various issues associated with aftermarket clutches. Seems like a stock one would be the best solution in this case.

I thought I had mentioned in my first post that my clutch is slipping, and that that's why I'm looking for a new clutch. Either way, I appreciate you trying to help, but the stock clutch is terrible and I wouldn't even consider putting that POS back in my car. It can barely handle basic bolt on and tune power, and burns more easily than any clutch I've ever driven on in any car - EVER. No thank you. I'm nervous about getting an aftermarket clutch and the issues that can go along with them, but I'll take my chances.

Anyone who knows who to properly drive a manual will not have any issue street driving a full bolt-ons X. If you're drag racing, then yeah it won't last extensively, though.

Plenty of guys have luck running BBX Lites's, FP Green's, and EF2's on the stock clutch also, as long as you know how to properly drive a manual car, there should not be an issue as torque is very similar, if not less than a bolt- on stock turbo car.

With that being said, I would recommend replacing the OEM clutch with something better, depending on your cars overall goal.

I had spec stage 2. Going to spec State 3+. The Stage 2 clutc was very forgiving but does not like tq. So built motor 2.3L killed it :-)

If I was to get together with the guys at RPS and produce a twin disk clutch that can hold good power, but be a little softer than stock so we don't burst CMC's who would be interested?
