Does the issue go away after a few minutes of driving, or is this all the time?

I consistently get vibration in 4th & 5th (when doing 50MPH or higher) if it's cold outside.. but it goes away within the first 2 or 3 minutes of driving.

From what I understand, this is due to tire pressure fluctuations from temperature changes and/or flat spots on the tires from sitting.

If your issue happens all the time, then I have no idea what the cause is.. good luck, though

Ah, I see. Did you buy and install the separate recirculating kit for the BOV? Heard you could run into problems if you don't.. can't remember exactly what kind of issues, but 99% of the people here strongly recommend against vent-to-air on the X.

Also, maybe check for leaks?

ETA: ..or you could just go back to the stock recirc valve, if you suspect the HKS BOV might be the problem - and then see if your issue goes away.

Sounds to me like its BOV flutter. If your boost gauge is bouncing around it has to either be BOV flutter or compressor surge. The HKS SSQV BOV is probably the worst BOV for our car.

Stock recirc valve.

..at least that's what the general consensus seems (unless you're actually to the point where it's not holding enough boost, and you legitimately have a need for an aftermarket BOV - in which case, I've seen Tial recommended many times).

Imo, since you've already bought the HKS BOV, you might as well just order the matching HKS recirculating kit and install it - otherwise, just go back to stock and crush if needed.

Just my 2¢, of course.. good luck

Ah, that sucks.. didn't know you already tried the recirculating kit.

Maybe the problem is something else entirely? Still might be a good idea to try going back to stock, just to rule that out I guess.

Did you try checking your pipes and hoses for any leaks at the connection points?

Combination of compressor surge and VTA BOV flutter... just avoid those throttle spots or dial back your MIVEC to alleviate the issues. It should be less noticeable once it gets warmer, also.

edit: Ah, I saw your other post - I guess that's back to stock. That's purely compressor surge in the video.

Mine did that stock (it was extremely quiet and really hard to hear) if I was in 4th or 5th at a really low RPM (under 3k) and tried to apply more throttle instead of just down shifting.
