Turbo actuator
wasn't planning on leaving the aftermarket WGA on when i go back to the dealership, if it was a safe mod to do on stock tune i'd be replacing it back with the stock WGA when going in for service. I'm worried that flashing the stock map back on to the ECU leaves a trace regardless if it is exactly the same values or not. Some questions have been stated that perhaps the ECU does leave a trail like that where some of the beginning of the code changes once flashed once. Therefore leaving a trail that you've flashed that specific ECU at least once. I'm just looking for a yes or no answer, yes the car will go/not go in to limp mode / unsafe, on a stock tune with an aftermarket WGA; even though vendors sell them with that claim to them.

I was in the same boat you are in. Started pissing around with the Z-chip, just so I wouldn't lose my warranty.
Look at my sig now, lol. Mod bug will keep biting you, just do it right the first time.
I have never use my warranty anyways.
Not sure if the 2011-12's are still as pig rich as the 2008's, but it is probably better for your car to be tuned than untuned.
Buy an exhaust, intake (just for the great sound) and get her tuned. Best 1,200 bucks you can spend on these cars.
Trust me you will fall in love with your vehicle all over again. You will add between 60-100 HP.
I would assume that you will not be happy with just a wastegate actuator swap.
Rule of thumb, if noone is taking that mod route on this forum, it is not the right path to take.

but in only putting the waste gate actuator on, this should in theory not change the boost but change the amount that is wasted prematurely through RPM's no? hence making it a safe mod, stock tune? In changing just the actuator i understand the boost levels would raise but not outside of stock parameters, so peak should still be within peak stock range, but after 4K rpms the fade should be reduced. Perhaps this is where i've gone wrong in thinking and this would solve this thread!!! my intention is not to raise boost
I guess that you could try slapping an FP 25 pound actuator on the turbo. The logic being that a 25 psi actuator if not preloaded will start to lift at about 18 PSI. Whereas, your stock actuator is probably cracking at 11 PSI without any preload.
I am not so sure that this would achieve what you are aiming for though, which if I understand you correctly is to reduce boost taper.

Thanks guys, all this is really started because it's my first new car
modified the f#$k out of my 90 Z loved it, but it started to fall apart big time. couldn't sell it was too attached after everything i'd done... so yeah i know the mod bug well. Really wanted to try and not get bit...i've already used the warranty for the damn T-case that must of been bust from the previous owner when i bought it, but still its no hard to say the warranty isn't a big deal for me. I hear what you're all saying and appreciate it, and will probably not do this WGA until i'm ready to tune the car, just need to put some reliable miles down first. appreciate it everyone!!!
