Need Help Deciding on Intake for Houston HOT weather. 100degrees 9months of the year

As titile says.

I already have a Cobb AP. Currently have stock intake.
For the Houston scorching HOT weather and humidity, literally 8 or even 9 months of the year the temperature here is above 90 degrees farenheit.

My car is a DD. I need an intake BAD. I need an intake that wont give me any heat soak so I am thinking of going AMS CAI or AEM Intake Box.

I want the whoooosh sound of an intake and AEM doens't do that much. I've heard that AEM isn't that good for tuning but Cobb AP has made a OTS map just for AEM so i think it couldn't hurt much.

AMS CAI requires removal of bumper each time to clean it. Quite a Pain. sigh. help.

The car will be a future track car. maybe after like 4 years. lol.

need help deciding.

I owned both but I don't daily my Evo. I been driving in houston weather since 2008 in my X.

Although I only drive my evo early morning to work and late at night. So I don't have to deal with midday heat. I do drive to lunch sometimes but heatsoak isnt much of a problem since I don't really haul *** during lunch to notice it.

started with the AEM intake. Sold that cause it is quiet like you said.

Got a AMS style intake, ran that and still running it now without a heatshield.
This intake makes the stock BOV louder which is what you want.

Upgrade the BOV to a synapse and you get a even louder whoosh.

My buddy owns the AMS CAI, he only cleaned it once and it was Dirty as heck being down there. Both of us dont daily our evo though.

Take a look at the Injen intake. Big heat shield to help keep heat away. I have it and live in Tucson AZ. In the summer my car does feel slower but that is to be expected. No additional knock or anything like that though. Cobb has an OTS map for it as well which is what I am running. You will get the BPV/BOV sound and turbo sound also.

I'm in Houston too, I'd love to know what intakes others are using! I'm stuck between getting the AFE/Cobb SR or AEM.

Does the intake play as crucial of a role when there's a FMIC involved?

Heat shields help, but you can't beat good ol ambient air. AEM ftw if you're using a stock frame turbo.

I'm sure there is no issue with the ams short ram intake. It is just that think we all know that the arm ice box WILL prevent all possible heat soak.
