Installed ETS intake today. One question

It is right up against the box used for jump starting the car. The rubber coupling on the intake is the part that is touching it. Doesn't seem like a big deal but does anybody know of a reason I may want to try and adjust it? If its not going to hurt anything I may as well just leave it like it is.

Thanks you

Weren't you going to do a drop-in filter?
Here is mine, it's close but not touching. A slight counter-clockwise rotation of the intake pipe made this possible. Hope this helps! Oh.. and enjoy your BOV

I thought about the drop-in for a couple of seconds. I like the ETS much more.

I guess I can work on it a bit more. I was just thinking it doesn't seem like it would do any damage being against it. It really was like a puzzling espically when mounting the heat shield, trying to get it all where it was supposed to be and getting the shield to even come close to bolt up.

Your velocity stack (I think that's what it's called) seems to be mounted different than mine. I have mine pushed in so it is flush with the filter.

Do you get a lot of the air sucking in noise at about 3k RPM and up? It's my first time removing the airbox on a car so I don't really know how much is normal.

Thanks for the advice.

Mine was rubbing on that too but it was touching the actual pipe. I just went to home depot and got some kinda gasket kit which is basically just a square rubber sheet, cut a small piece, and put it on the intake.

Yes the suction noise is normal.

Thanks, I think I will leave it. Mine is up against the rubber coupler on the intake so I don't think any damage will occur.

As far as the noise. I was pretty sure that was normal, just wanted to make sure it was the right noise and I didn't screw anything up. it has been 20 years since I worked on my own car. This was easy but I second guess myself a lot.

Just out of curiosity, should I be able to feel a difference in power with just the ETS intake or will it take a tune or other bolt-ons for me to feel something different? Honestly I can't. Just curious though.

You may have to clock it slightly away from the jump box and tighten it down.

Thanks!

Strange, yours is way further forward than mine. Mine hits the red box about 1/4 up the rubber coupler. Yours looks like the coupler is quite a bit in front of the red cap.
